Ohl wins big in Huntsville

Cody Ohl of Stephenville, Texas, the four-time and reigning world tie-down roping champion, claimed his event title and all-around cowboy honors at the Walker County Fair and Rodeo.

Ohl roped and tied three calves in 26.0 seconds, good for $6,488 and pocketed a total of $7, 348 in tie-down roping, steer roping and team roping.

Other champions in Huntsville were Tom McFarland, Morristown, Ariz., bareback riding, 86 points on Bad Company’s Smokeless Moulin Rouge, $1,911; Rance Bray, Dumas, Texas, saddle bronc riding, 80 points on Bad Company’s Smokeless Heart of Glass, $1,877; Marcus Michaelis, Caldwell, Idaho, bull riding, 88 points on Bad Company’s Smokeless Satan’s Own, $2,279; Lee Graves, Calgary, Alberta, steer wrestling, 14.2 seconds on three, $5,050; Chad Masters, Adams, Tenn./Michael Jones, Stephenville, Texas, team roping, 15.3 seconds on three, $4,419 each; Cash Myers, Athens, Texas, steer roping, 33.4 seconds on three, $3,779; and Carrie Potashnick, Sikeston, Mo., barrel racing, 16.70 seconds, $1,802.
